A lot of areas along the coast of Texas are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Harvey.

One of those is Rockport-Fulton High School.  Their school's gymnasium and cafeteria was destroyed by the Hurricane, so for the first time in ten years, they have no place to hold their Prom.  In comes La Palmera mall in Corpus Christi.  Through La Palmera Cares, an initiative that raises awareness and funds for organizations and events, the mall informed the school they will be taking care of the venue including tables and chairs, a DJ for music, a candid photo booth, and refreshments.  J.C. Penney also announced that in partnering with La Palmera, they will gift two students a complete Prom makeover, including clothes, shoes, makeup and hair, the works!

This year's prom is going to be a bit different but I think that having the prom in a place where a lot of the teens go to visit is a great idea.  We are so thankful for La Palmera to be taking care of all of the expenses.  The kids are really looking forward to it and I think everyone is going to have a great time."
