Late last year, Charlie Sheen sued the National Enquirer for defamation concerning a story it published, claiming he raped actor Corey Haim on the set of the 1980's movie Lucas, when Haim was 13.

Charlie denied the accusation and Haim's mother said it's not true.

Now, TMZ reports Sheen and the National Enquirer have reached a settlement, averting a trial.

Documents were filed last week, and Charlie's lawyers have requested the suit be dismissed with prejudice (it cannot be re-filed).

TMZ's sources say so no money was involved in the settlement and both sides are satisfied.
