DALLAS - The coronavirus is now affecting a major Dallas event.

The annual St. Patrick’s Parade along Greenville Avenue has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

The move was made by city officials in consultation with the CDC and the Dallas County Health Department.

"Canceling the St. Patrick’s Day parade and block party was not an easy decision, but it is the correct and responsible decision," said Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson.

The parade was scheduled to take place on Saturday. The parade attracts around 125,000 spectators.
