‘Fixer Upper’ Stars Hit With $1 Million Lawsuit

With fame, comes foe.  Unfortunately, for Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, the foe is their neighbor at their Magnolia Market at the Silos store.  The dispute is over an alley that the Waco-based HGTV stars have been using for customer parking.

Chip and Joanna had leased the alley from the previous owner, but when Daron Farmer of Head Properties purchased the land, he wanted to charge Magnolia Market customers $10 to park on his property.  After compromise attempts failed, in a move “to protect their business,” Chip erected a gate   to illustrate that the Gaines’s are not greedily charging their customers a fee to park.

Farmer claims that the gate is illegally obstructing his property.  Not only has he filed suit to have the gate removed, but is also seeking damages from $200,000 to $1 million.  Granted, we’re only hearing one side of the story, but it certainly seems like Farmer is looking to benefit from the success of his famous neighbors.
