The city of Arlington’s job market will soon grow, as GM Financial plans to add several hundred more jobs as it celebrates the completion of a $35 million expansion.
The 240,000-square-foot facility marks the fourth building on campus, that stretches along the north side of interstate 20.
GM Financial employees 3,400 in Arlington, along with 700 at it’s downtown Fort Worth headquarters. The building includes a training and conference center and will hold other company functions such as: loan processing, collections, human resources, customer service and IT.
The city aided with the expansion, granting GM a seven year tax incentive that provides an 80% break on property taxes. GM is currently the largest private-sector employer in Arlington, with a whopping 8,000 employees, including it’s massive assembly plant where more than 4,200 workers assemble large SUVs.
