Jason Clarke, an Australian actor who had a supporting role in Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, has just landed a role in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, the sequel to the 2011 film Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.
NME is reporting that James Franco the star of the last film is unlikely to return to the sequel, but Andy Serkis, the man behind the realistic computer apes in the last film, has signed on for the sequel.
The film will be set about 15 years after the last movie, but that is about as much as anyone knows about the plot. The script was penned by Mark Bomback (Unstoppable, Total Recall).
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt dropped out of the film last year, and Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) has been hired to replace him.
The film is set to be released in May of 2014.
