Aussie band INXS, who have produced hits like Need You Tonight, Devil Inside, and New Sensation, have decided that 35 years is long enough.
Perth Now is reporting that drummer Jon Farriss announced that the group will disband, telling the audience, “I’m getting teary.”
The band’s current front-man Ciaran Gribbin posted on the INXS Facbook page, “please try and be patient as the band plan to release a full statement on the subject ASAP. I’m sorry I can’t say anymore at this time and hope this helps ease a few worries and concerns. Thank you All for all the love and kind wishes. Ciaran.”” That post has since been deleted.
The group formed in Sydney in 1977, and managed to withstand the suicide of original front-man Michael Hutchence in 1997.
The band is currently on tour with Matchbox Twenty.
