One person is dead after a stage collapsed Saturday night at a [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Radiohead[/lastfm] concert in Toronto.
Just hours before Radiohead were to perform to a sold-out crowd at Downsview Park, crews were setting up the stage when it inexplicably collapsed.
According to witnesses, there were about 1,000 people at the venue when suddenly there was a “loud crash” and the stage came down with “metal everywhere.”
A man in his mid-30s was trapped under the rubble and killed, while another was hospitalized with a head injury. Two more were treated at the scene.
Following the accident, Radiohead tweeted that “due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s concert at downsview park tonight has been canceled. Fans are advised not to make their way to the venue.”
Canada’s Ministry of Labor will reportedly investigate the cause of the collapse.
