Today’s Throwback Video of the Day is “Black Cat” from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Janet Jackson[/lastfm].

Let’s hope it’s the only black cat that crosses your path today!

In 1989, Janet Jackson scored a No. 1 album with Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814.  It sold over 14 million copies around the world, making Jackson one of music’s most popular female artists.

The hard-rocking Black Cat,” which the singer wrote herself, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the album’s fourth single to reach the top spot.

The video for the song was directed by Wayne Isham and filmed in Minneapolis during an April 1990 stop on Jackson’s successful Rhythm Nation Tour.
