If long-time Aerosmith producer Jack Douglas had his way, Stephen King would helped pen lyrics for the band’s upcoming album.

The question is… will we hear the famed horror writer’s work on the new album?

The answer is probably… no.

However, according to nme.com, Douglas approached the band about having King be involved in the writing process to “provide inspiration” to singer Steven Tyler.

“They looked at me like I was crazy,” said Douglas about the odd collaboration. “I said, ‘No, I’m serious. If there’s anyone who’s going to inspire him, it’d be Stephen King.’”

It’s not known on whether King did join forces with the band and by the sounds of it, if he hasn’t already, he probably won’t… at least on this album.

Back in September, Tyler said the band was nearly finished in the recording studio and was expected to release their new album later this year.

A rock fan with a love of horror tales can only dream of such a duo right… or have nightmares… whatever works for them.

We’ll just have to make due with these Aerosmith classics, and even though they sound scary, there is reason to believe that they were NOT written by Stephen King.

We know that is still disappointing, but enjoy…
