Comeblack, the new compilation album from German rockers Scorpions, was just released, and we’re making their version of “Ruby Tuesday” our Song of the Day!

Jack FM Fun Fact No. 103:  We once worked at a Ruby Tuesday.  Apparently, management frowns upon employees eating off the customers’ plates.

VH1 placed them at No. 46 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.

Formed in 1965 by rhythm guitarist Rudolf Schenker, Scorpions rose to international fame in the ’80s with such platinum-selling albums as Animal Magnetism, Blackout, Love at First Sting and Crazy World.  The band from Hanover, Germany were also constants on both rock radio and MTV with the singles “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” “Big City Nights,” “Wind of Change” and “No One Like You,” which went to No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 1982.

Last month, Scorpions released the compilation album Comeblack.  It features re-recorded versions of their big hits, as well as covers of popular rock songs from the ’60s and ’70s, including the Rolling Stones‘ “Ruby Tuesday.”  Comeblack sold 5,000 copies in its first week of release, and it debuted at No. 90 on the Billboard 200.

Scorpions will kick off their Final Sting Tour March 30th in Tours, France.  According to the band, it will be their last before retiring.
