On January 24th, heavy metal rockers Scorpions will release a new compilation album entitled Comeblack.
And in anticipation of its release, Jack FM is making the first single, “Tainted Love,” our Song of the Day!
Speaking of German things, could somebody please explain to us the appeal of sauerkraut?!
They are perhaps one of Germany’s greatest musical exports.
Formed in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker, Scorpions found success in the U.S. in the early ’80s with albums such as Animal Magnetism, Blackout and Love at First Sting. Each sold over a million copies and peaked within the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
Singles like “No One Like You,” “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” “Still Loving You” and “Wind of Change” were anthems on rock radio, while their respective music videos turned the band into MTV stars.
On January 24th, Scorpions will release the compilation album Comeblack. It features re-recorded versions of their biggest hits, as well as covers of songs by T. Rex, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. The first single, a rocking version of “Tainted Love,” is Jack’s Song of the Day.
Scorpions are currently on tour in Europe, and according to the band, it will be their last before retiring.
Check out the video for Scorpion’s 1984 hit “Big City Nights.” It’s rock n’ roll debauchery at its finest.
