The inventor of Doritos, Arch West (97), died this week in Dallas.
Mr. West was the marketing vice president at Frito-Lay in 1964 when he and his family took a trip to southern California.
Doritos – A Pretty Good Snack
West grabbed a quick snack for the road – a bag of toasted tortillas. And got the idea to create Doritos.
When he went back to work after his vacation, he pitched an idea for a cheesy corn tortilla snack.
The response was overwhelmingly positive and the first Doritos were sold to the public in 1966.
His funeral is this weekend. The family mentioned that they plan to throw a few Doritos chips in to the grave.
We wonder which Doritos flavor will he be buried with?
Which is your favorite Doritos?
