This imperative command was made famous by rapper MC Hammer.

Also featured as co-author is Rick James because the song has a similar beat to the opening of Super Freak, that it uses throughout the song. Good thing James got in to get a cut of the Hammer money this song has produced.

MC Hammer got his name while being a bat boy for the Oakland A’s and some thought he looked like “Hammerin’ Hank” Aaron. Although it is still unknown how he got those baggy pants.

At the Grammy Awards, it won best R&B song and best Rap Solo performance. It reached #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/ Hip Hop Singles and Tracks and was #8 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

It was also parodied by Weird Al with the song “I Can’t Watch This.”
