Did you know that Debbie Harry first sang with a folk rock group in 1974 called The Wind in the Willows. She then met Chris Stein and he invited her to join his group, The Stilettos.
They, along with Clem Burke, Jimmy Destri and Gary Valentine formed the band Angel and the Snake.
Blondie performed in clubs around New York City, and became one of the many punk groups that were launched to national prominence from CBGB, the now-closed club on the Bowery. The band broke up in 1982 and reunited in 1999.
