Nick Oliveri, the former bassist of Queens of the Stone Age, was arrested.

LAPD say he was taken into custudy for suspicion of domestic violence in Hollywood on Tuesday night (July 12) after a five-hour standoff with police.

Police reportedly arrived at the 39-year-old rocker’s home after receiving a domestic violence call at around 5:00 pm PST, and after learning that Oliveri’s girlfriend was being held inside, SWAT team members surrounded the house.

Oliveri’s girlfriend was released at about 8:30 pm unharmed, and Oliveri was arrested two hours later.

After serving as a bassist for hard rockers Kyuss, Oliveri joined Queens of the Stone Age in 1998 and contributed to their 2002 breakout album, “Songs for the Deaf,” before being “fired” from the group in 2004.
