Today is the day to honor veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice, so to do our part we made Moby‘s ‘The Day’ our song of the day!

Moby has putting electronic sound in our headphones since 1982 and it doesn’t look like he will stop any time soon. He has released 10 studio albums, his latest, ‘Destroyed’ was dropped just 2 weeks ago. A photography book with the same name will also be released around the time of the album.

In an interview Moby describes the new album as “very melodic and atmospheric and electronic, and if i had to sum it up i would describe it as: ‘broken down melodic electronic music for empty cities at 2 a.m’.” Wow…that sounds deep.

Today’s tune is the first single off the new album and Moby talked about the track on his website blog, saying “‘The Day’ was written in a hotel room in Spain at dawn when I hadn’t slept. It was a beautiful hotel room, a beautiful perfect hotel room and it was six or seven in the morning. I wrote it on an acoustic guitar and recorded it on my phone, brought it home and re-recorded it with old broken down electronics that I have in my studio.”
